Verdict

Higgsfield puts many of the leading AI video models in one website with ready-made camera moves, and it says it has 30 million users. Free accounts get no credits, plans start at $19 a month, and user reviews and The Register are full of complaints about throttled 'unlimited' deals, trial charges and refused refunds. In February 2026 Forbes found its marketing team had sent creators racist clips and nonconsensual deepfakes of celebrities to promote it.

What people say

Heavy users who caught an unlimited deal say the output is good and cheap per minute, and a few creators on X are enthusiastic. user threads from July to October 2026 are dominated by trial-to-paid charges, refused refunds and 'unlimited' plans that stop after a few videos. Trustpilot's 4.0 from 4,926 sits oddly against this, and The Register reports critics accusing the company of review astroturfing.

“The subscription is fine and worth it, especially if you need to generate a lot ASAP.”

“I generated a 5-minute anime scene with Seedream 5.0 and Seedance 2.0 Fast, which would've cost 200-300 dollars any other time. I'm satisfied with the results.”

“Having a video editor inside Claude with Higgsfield Katana is such a superpower. Love this”

“I signed up for the 3-day Higgsfield Plus trial ($0). When it ended, I was charged $49 and the Plus Monthly plan activated.”

“They constantly spam “discounted” subscriptions, one day free, one week free, whatever it is, just to lock you into a full year.”

Press reviews

  • Forbes 2026-02-11

Growth to a $300 million run rate came with 'misleading marketing tactics', stock clips passed off as AI, racist videos and celebrity deepfakes sent to creators, and throttled 'unlimited' plans; the company admitted 'we have made mistakes'.

  • The Register 2026-02-06

Backlash after Higgsfield boasted it 'ended' 20 creative jobs; a UK user calls it largely a wrapper for Google and Kling models with long queues and no refunds once used, 'not really a service that is fit for purpose'.

  • TechCrunch 2026-08-17

Raised $400M at $5.4B and claims 30 million users and $700M annualised revenue, figures from the company's own release.

FAQ

Is Higgsfield free?

Not in any useful way. Free accounts get no credits and watermarked output, according to a Creatify write-up of Higgsfield's help pages, and paid plans start at $19 a month.

Is Higgsfield legit or a scam?

It is a real, heavily funded company valued at $5.4 billion in August 2026. Forbes and The Register reported misleading marketing, throttled 'unlimited' offers and refund complaints, and user threads in 2026 repeat those complaints.

Can I get a refund from Higgsfield?

Refunds are hard to get. A user reviews user in September 2026 was refused a refund for a $49 charge after a free trial, with support citing a terms clause limiting refunds to the first purchase, and The Register reports refunds are refused once the service has been used.

Does Higgsfield have an app?

No official Higgsfield app appeared in UK App Store or Google Play searches on 10 October 2026, so it is used through the website. Apps with similar names in the stores are made by other developers.

Does Higgsfield use my uploads to train AI?

Yes. Its privacy policy says uploads, prompts and outputs can train its own and its affiliates' models, and the only way to stop it is to delete the content or account.
